I stayed at the Moana Surfrider, A Westin Resort & Spa in late October 2010 while in Honolulu for 3 nights. It was a marvelous, restful place to be as the room was huge, with a desk which had a beautiful arrangement of fruit and water on it upon my arrival-just what you need when you finally get to your destination …finally, you are THERE in your room. The Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Resort & Spa is located about a half mile from Lewers Street away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki. The resort has 5 pools (including the “super pool” which is the largest in Waikiki and the Paradise Pool with 4 waterslides), 7 towers, 2860 rooms, a private lagoon, the widest sand beach in Waikiki and a private salt water lagoon (great for snorkeling and paddle boarding). The Grand Wailea Resort shares a very nice beach with the Four Seasons Resort Maui. The resort is now part of the Waldorf Astoria Collection and the resort’s 780 rooms were renovated in 2009. The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua was built in 1990 and was closed for 6 months in 2007 for a full $180 million renovation. The resort has 463 rooms and suites and is located on two golf courses (the Bay and Plantation which host a PGA event every year) and guests receive a discount and preferred tee times.

The Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa was built in 1963 on Black Rock. The resort is on a great stretch of Kaanapali Beach and snorkeling is available off the beach. The rooms were renovated in 2007 and they look great. The Deluxe Rooms are slightly larger than the Standard Rooms and 80 percent offer an ocean view. The resort has a nice pool area and great beach. I can not say enough nice things about the Fairmont Orchid, Hawaii. For the price, the value is excellent. The hotel is a 5 star property, deluxe and elegant but low key. WOW!!! Was my first impression when I was greeted in the open air lobby of the Grand Wailea Resort in Maui, with a beautiful fresh orchid lei. The stunning open air lobby, filled with colorful flowers and amazing sculptures overlooking the deep blue Pacific was an awesome sight. Fairmont Kea Lani-all-suite luxury accommodations in Wailea, Maui. This Resort is a world-class, 5 star resort that sits on a beautiful, white sand Polo Beach in the upscale Wailea area of Maui, which is a little more secluded than the busier West Maui resort area.
