Sandals Royal Plantation is located in Ocho Rios, Jamaica about an hour and a half from Montego Bay Airport. It is one of my personal favorite all-inclusive resorts, anywhere. Boasting old world charm from the moment you enter the lobby, you are met and checked in by very friendly butlers greeting you with a chilled towel and a chillier Mangosa (champagne and mango). The Grand Wailea Resort shares a very nice beach with the Four Seasons Resort Maui. The resort is now part of the Waldorf Astoria Collection and the resort’s 780 rooms were renovated in 2009. The rooms are very similar with the exception of the view. The rooms are all 640 square feet with nice bathrooms and plasma televisions. (more…)

The Four Seasons Resort Maui is located on a nice beach that is shared with the Grand Wailea Resort, 30 minutes from the airport. The resort is amazing and is the only AAA 5 Diamond resort on Maui. There are 377 rooms and suites and three pools (main, adults-only, and kiddie). (more…)

Couples Swept Away in Jamaica is a beautiful resort. As the name refers to, the resort wants to sweep you away from the stress of your daily life. I was fortunate to participate in the Vacation.com conference in Orlando this past June. I stayed at the Orlando World Center Marriott as they were the host hotel for the convention. Not only did they do a fabulous job with our convention, but the entire experience was delightful. Someone greeted us upon arrival and directed us to the check-in area. Keep the Disney hotels, the Hyatt Grand Cypress is the best place to stay in the area. For over 20 years the Hyatt Grand Cypress has been the leading hotel in the Orlando area, and after a total renovation, completed at the end of last year, it is not going to lose its place anytime soon. (more…)
