I stayed at the Moana Surfrider, A Westin Resort & Spa in late October 2010 while in Honolulu for 3 nights. It was a marvelous, restful place to be as the room was huge, with a desk which had a beautiful arrangement of fruit and water on it upon my arrival-just what you need when you finally get to your destination …finally, you are THERE in your room. The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua was built in 1990 and was closed for 6 months in 2007 for a full $180 million renovation. The resort has 463 rooms and suites and is located on two golf courses (the Bay and Plantation which host a PGA event every year) and guests receive a discount and preferred tee times.
The Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resort Villas are on a great stretch of North Kaanapali Beach. Starwood offers a free shuttle between its properties, which could be used to get to Whaler’s Village. The South Tower was built in 2003 and the North Tower was completed in 2007. There are 1021 units at this resort. (more…)
