We recently stayed at the elegant Westin Princeville Ocean Resort Villas on the northern coast of Kauai.

This newly built property (opened in April 2008) consists of studio, one and two bedroom villas, all with full kitchens and luxury bathrooms featuring whirlpool tubs. The Westin’s located high above the ocean on the most beautiful island in Hawaii. We stayed in one of the studio villas and it was very spacious for two people.

There is an excellent restaurant on site. However, just down the road is a full service supermarket where you can pick up all your food and cook it yourself in your own kitchen. They even have outdoor gas grills that guests are free to use. It’s a great way to save a lot of money on your Hawaii vacation. The pool area is huge and there are lots of activities for adults and kids alike.

The surrounding area is stunningly beautiful; you will definitely want to have a rental car for exploring. The hotel is about a 50 minute drive from the airport in Lihue.

This is a fabulous place for honeymooners, couples of any age, and families. Also, the Princeville Golf Club is right next door, so don’t forget your clubs!
