La Samanna is better than ever, but still surrounded by peace. The staff is gentle and service-oriented; they make you feel you are the only person they are there to serve. My daughter Lisa and I had a 2-bedroom 2-bathroom beachfront suite (both bathrooms with double sinks) and great rain shower heads. The decor is a delight - nothing stuffy. Our suite offered what one expects in a (very nice) beach house. We had 2 terraces - one surrounded by lovely bougainvillea -for dining. I had room service there twice. The waitress arrived with a big smile and set our table with a lovely blue cloth and beautiful dishes. The second terrace is in front facing the beach/sunset. There are four lounges (covered in the same blue hue) two on either side of the steps to the beach. There is a third room above this unit, perfect for3 couples who are good friends, or family with a nanny who could be accommodated upstairs. It can easily be converted to a three-bedroom suite. I saw a suite called Baie Rouge - absolutely wonderful! Baie Rouge offered different decor/colors, red tiled floors with a round living room overlooking the sky and the sea. Perfect for a couple - if one spouse does not want sun they can sit inside and still enjoy the surroundings. The other spouse may want to sit and sun on the terrace. I hope they don’t change that unit. I loved it. The honeymoon suite left me speechless. It features room after delightful room, the walls a pale lavender to set off the white of all the furniture and soft drapes. I would get married again to stay there…. Jennifer invited us to a special function in the Wine Cellar - a perfect venue for an intimate dinner, or the honeymooners’ candlelight dinner. The food is exquisite with service to match.
