El Dorado Royale - Riviera Maya, Mexico
When El Dorado Royale says “Gourmet Inclusive”, they aren’t stretching the truth. I’m not a particular fan of all-inclusives but the three El Dorado resorts along the Riviera Maya are exceptional! No wrist bands and no buffets other than a buffet option for breakfast (in addition to a full menu service).
The food in every one of the restaurants was excellent - and we have high standards in dining. Perhaps the best aspect of El Dorado Royale’s service is that there is no lining up at 8:00 to reserve tonight’s specialty restaurant. Casita guests can make advance reservations while all others simply show up in the venue of their choice. Just like most restaurants at home these days, you check in, put your name on the list, get your “pager” and go enjoy a cocktail. We never waited more that about 30 minutes for our table.
The accommodations are excellent, the spa was world-class and the service throughout was impeccable! We enjoy the absence of children when traveling, but (parent company) Karisma’s family-oriented AZUL Hotels (including AZUL Fives, AZUL Sensatori) all provide the same wonderful attributes I’ve described above!
