Would you like a hotel and spa experience (without having to pay a fortune for additional spa ambience)?  Visit Aqua Cancun - the totally renovated beachfront hotel that is a living spa!Arriving at the hotel, the first thing you will notice is the most delightful scent of exotic flowers that makes you feel you are in the middle of an aromatherapy spa treatment. Forget about standing in line at the front desk to check in - you are escorted to a comfortable sofa and a cool refreshing drink is placed in front of you. Within seconds, you are then greeted by a lovely hand therapist who proceeds to give you a tantalizing hand and arm massage. Imagine, you’ve just flown into Cancun after a 4 hour (or longer) flight and navigating airports - to be greeted like this. How fabulous!

Now, you are escorted to your very large oceanfront room (all rooms are oceanfront). Then your bellman will walk you through your room and advise you how to operate all the electronics, the air conditioning, and TVs. Then the big surprise: a choice of 5 different scents is offered to you everyday; you can advise housekeeping which one you prefer. The housekeeping staff completes the set-up of the scent you’ve checked off on your form. Yes, this is fabulous room service! Each day, you can have a different scent - AMAZING! I just loved walking into this hotel and my room. The bedding was exceptionally comfortable - like a heavenly mattress.

Room sizes are very large with exceptionally wide glass doors onto a large balcony. There are wide and unending views of the beach: north and south! Great sunrises!

There are several pools at this property, excellent restaurants, a state of the art fitness center, a spa, and an internet center available 24 hours a day (with reasonable pricing). The Aqua has an excellent location on the beach. The beach is narrow and offers ample opportunity for ocean bathing. A major open air mall is right across the street, with endless shops, restaurants, movies, and literally hundreds of stores.

I can highly recommend the Aqua (it is a member of the Fiesta Americana Hotel group). The hotel features a European plan (no meals included) and does not offer an all-inclusive plan at this time. I stayed at this hotel from Jan 29 - Feb. 1, 2009. I ate at both the fine dining and “7″ restaurant for breakfast and all of the food was outstanding. Prices at the hotel were most attractive.
