Zoëtry Paraiso de la Bonita in Riviera Maya is the ultimate destination for a laid-back, romantic vacation. The service is unbelievable; they even set up your chair at the pool area or on the beach - lining the beach chair with a fresh towel, relocating umbrellas as needed to provide shade for guests, and then find out what your drink of choice is. They remember your drink and are constantly checking to see if you are ready for another one, or if you would like to see the lunch menu. Periodically the waiters come around the pool and beach area with various snacks: sushi, salsa, mini-sandwiches.

There are not that many activities, but this resort is not geared for that. This is the place to go to relax, catch up on your reading, and enjoy time with your travel companion.

All meals are ala carte; there are no buffet meals. Be sure to try the Brazilian feast, if they offer that while you are there.

The sunset catamaran cruise is another “included” feature; be sure to bring the champagne from your room on the boat. The captain and crew are willing to assist you with anything you bring onboard.

You will also enjoy the various tropical birds, iguanas, and raccoons that wander the property. The highlight of our trip was being able to release the baby sea turtles after hatching just a couple days prior.The activities director at the Zoetry Paraiso de la Bonita, Saul, takes pride in rescuing the eggs from the beach, protecting them until they hatch and having the guests (with strict guidelines) release them into the sea.

The air conditioning in the rooms is adequate, but it is not the “hang meat” A/C that most Americans are used to.

The free laundry and free long distance calls to anywhere in the world are just a couple of the unbelievable “extras” that are included with all guests’ stays.

If you are looking for a honeymoon destination, THIS IS THE SPOT!!
Their honeymoon package (with booking a certain room category) is the best I have ever seen.
