The Fairmont Southampton
I just recently returned from a 4-night stay at one of my favorite hotels, The Fairmont Southampton in Bermuda. The Fairmont Southampton is a bit of old Bermuda with all the up-to-date amenities. I loved what they have done with regards to up-dating their rooms…the harbor-view rooms with balcony is fabulous (above the fourth floor). The Concierge Gold category rooms are worth every penny extra for the beautiful breakfast, snacks during the day, unlimited water (otherwise costing $7 per bottle) and soda, afternoon tea, and ample hors d’oeuvres before dinner. One night we never made it to dinner, because of the hors d’oeuvres. Plus all the attention provided by the Concierge front desk…i.e. dinner reservations, tee times, spa treatments….well worth the extra cost!
I also loved the water shuttle which provides free transportation from Waterlot to the Fairmont Hamilton Princess in Hamilton, Bermuda.
Unfortunately the Concierge Gold level will be closed starting early November to December 28. I will be reopened for Christmas/New Years until Jan 4 and then it will close again until March.
There are lovely shops and a beautiful 18-hole Executive Golf Course right outside the mail entrance…Lovely!
