Sandals Dunn’s River Villaggio Golf Resort & Spa
I loved EVERYTHING about the Sandals Dunn’s River Villaggio Golf Resort & Spa, it has a very Italian romance feel in the Caribbean. I have stayed there three times, and I am ready to go back. When you turn off the main road, it’s pure paradise. The palm trees are bordering the driveway and then come the water fountains. You will be greeted by the hotel managers with a cold towel and champagne. You will be escorted to your room very quickly, so you can start your vacation.
This property has many elegant room categories from the deluxe room looking at the mountains, to the ocean view rooms. Remember, I can always put in for a room upgrade, it depends on the availability. The ocean view rooms are great to sit out on your balcony and have a drink while overlooking the resort. Staying at Dunn’s River you do have a complimentary dining and transfers to and from Sandals Grande Ocho Rios, for a total of 11 additional restaurants and 12 bars. The two swim-up pools are awesome; they sit right next to the beach. There are always plenty of lounge chairs on the beach and you can enjoy the sound of the waves which will put you in a relaxing romantic mood. There are 6 restaurants and 6 bars at Sandals Dunn’s River. I love all the restaurants and don’t forget to try a chocolate martini at the tree bar. Sandals Dunn’s River has great day time and nightly entertainment and after the show head to the piano bar. The fun never ends.
I do enjoy golfing at the Sandals golf course, which the transfers and the green fees are included in your price. Our caddy’s name is Cowboy, he knows his greens. It has to do with the mountains and the ocean, he is a funny guy. Don’t forget to enjoy a day at the Red Lane Spa, simply relaxing. There are plenty of activities on the resort, but also many outside excursions off the property. Horseback riding, river tubing, Bob Marley Jeep Safari, Canopy tour, swimming with the dolphins, and much more. We did the Canopy tour what a rush, zipping through the trees. I would do it again in a heart beat.
The staff is amazing, and very service oriented. The property is great for honeymooners, destination weddings and couples that just want to get away. I can’t wait to pack my bags and head to Jamaica again. Maybe I will see you on the beach.
