Royal Plantation
I recently had an opportunity to visit the Royal Plantation Resort in Ocho Rios. Upon entering this intimate all suite property, we were greeted with cold towels and champagne. We were seated in comfy sofas and chairs to complete the 3 minute check-in process and then we were whisked away to our beautiful Jr suite - all rooms overlook the ocean.The bedding was 400 thread count Egyptian cotton and the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. The in-room bar is well stocked, lots of closet space (almost a walk in closet where the safe is kept) and large double sink, marble countertop in the bathroom.
When ordering room service, they call first to tell you they are on the way then knock on the door and take their shoes off. They proceed to the sitting area, open the table leaf and place a crisp, white tablecloth with condiments, plates, silverware and glasses - all done with precision and very unobtrusively. They also place a follow up phone call to ensure that everything was satisfactory.
There are 2 beaches - both with outstanding service including the attendants offering mangosas, chilled fruit kebabs and cucumber eye patches!
The French Restaurant is amazing with a very good wine selection. The Terrace Restaurant menu changes daily and offers a great variety of beef, seafood and vegetarian choices.
There is a small band playing on the terrace most nights and it’s a great way to enjoy an after dinner cocktail with the gentle evening breeze and a beautiful view of the ocean.
The Spa and Fitness Center are both very well staffed and there is yoga on the pier offered 3 times a week.
Royal Plantation is truly an intimate hideaway providing luxury with a relaxed attitude.
