GOGO Vacations

RIU Palace Cabo San Lucas

My husband and I stayed at the wonderful Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas June 26th to July 1st 2009. We were very impressed with the open, expansive lobby and welcomed with a refreshing cold beverage upon arrival. The manager gave us a tour of the property while our luggage was being delivered to our ocean view room and balcony (full, direct ocean view). The property has over six hundred rooms and almost all have a view of the pool area or the ocean. There were stocked mini-bars and liquor dispensers in all rooms that were replenished daily and the room quality and cleanliness was five-star. All areas around the pool were spotless and there were beautiful maintained gardens surrounding this location. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Of course the bartenders and wait staff were there to make your stay enjoyable as they filled your glasses and plates with great drinks and delicious food.

The buffet restaurant was exceptional at dinner as the variety was amazing. The seafood was absolutely wonderful and plentiful. We tried three of the specialty restaurants and were impressed with the quality of the food but only would have liked to have the pacing a bit slower between courses. They do schedule two or three seatings each evening and they are probably on a schedule that keeps them on a set pace to accomplish that service. We had wonderful weather as the nights were breezy and comfortable to sit outside and watch the water and stars as well as catch the outdoor evening show presented each night to the enjoyment of guests. If this is an indication of the quality of all Riu Palace Hotels, then I am sold!

We did visit the Riu Santa Fe next door and had an opportunity to see the rooms, restaurants and open spaces. This property has over 900 rooms and is really a great family resort as there were many areas for families to congregate and mingle day or night and large expansive restaurants. It also has a 24-hour bar/sport complex room large enough to satisfy all the late-night owls and sport fanatics that could possible want to be there. The whole hotel had a very warm and inviting feeling with relaxation as its goal. This resort is another win-win for Riu Hotels. Cabo San Lucas has my vote because even in the summer you need to bring a cover-up at night as the cool breezes are nothing like the high heat and humidity of Texas.Call Me to Plan Your Cabo Vacation!
