GOGO Vacations

Outrigger Waipouli Beach Resort and Spa

My two adult children and I visited Kauai in May, 2009. We stayed at the relatively new Outrigger Waipouli. It was a delightful air conditioned condo.(No all condos on Kauai have A/C). Our unit had 2 bedrooms, living room with sleeper sofa, dining area, 2 balconies and a kitchen to die for. There is a spa and an exercise room. There is also a walking/bike/jogging trail near. There is a restaurant on site, but we only had lunch which was good. There are several other restaurants within walking distance. Many of the guests choose to go across the street to the Starbucks or Subway. You can also get any groceries you need from the large Safeway across the street, and either cook in that magnificent kitchen or grill out on one of the resort grills. The pool was extremely nice, but I was not really impressed with the beach. The beach at Poipu is nicer. The staff at the resort was excellent.

I definitely recommend this for families who like to spread out. Because of the kitchen, it can be a big savings for families. Even if you do not wish to cook, you can keep beverages, snacks and breakfast items. You will definitely want a car while on Kauai. The best restaurant we ate in was at Poipu. This resort is a little bit of a drive to Poipu ,Princeville, or Waimea Canyon. It is not so much the distance as the traffic. This is definitely an island for sightseeing, kicking back and relaxing. I am not a golfer, but there are several nice courses nearby. If shopping is your thing-go to Maui or Oahu.
