GOGO Vacations

Iberostar Rose Hall Suites

This past November I spent three wonderful days at the Iberostar Rose Hall Suites in Jamaica. This hotel is set on a long stretch of beach in Montego Bay surrounded by the Iberostar Rose Hall Beach hotel on one side and the Iberostar Grand Hotel Rose Hall on the other side. The Iberostar Grand truly is what its name implies.

Every morning after a delicious breakfast I would go down to the main pool area for stretching classes and water aerobics. The stretching was terrific since so much of the day the only exercise I would get was lifting the plentiful drinks to my mouth. The water aerobics was a little unusual as they were done in the sea which definitely made them challenging but fun. The activities staff got us moving but did not get annoying about it. Both my husband and I felt like we were leaving friends when we departed, as some of them came to personally say goodbye to us. I have to say this is really what all of the staff at the hotel was like. They could not have been more pleasant or accommodating.

The rooms were very large and done beautifully in woods and had a separate sitting area with a sofa. They also had a wet bar area with a coffee maker and small fridge that was always stocked with water, soda and beer. Beyond the sitting area was a large balcony with a view of the pool and a little bit of the ocean. There are also rooms with a full ocean view.

I have to admit I spent much more time at the pool then on the beach. There were always plenty of chairs with shade and a constant stream of friendly servers offering drinks from a wide array of both alcoholic and non alcoholic choices. There were lots of chairs on the beach as well with shade. This was one of the big differences that I saw between the Iberostar Rose Hall Suites and the Iberostar Grand Hotel. The Grand had numerous sun beds and a spectacular pool area.

The food was delicious and there was enough choice that you could have a different cuisine almost every night. The steak restaurant had the best rib eye I have ever had and I typically don’t even eat beef. I could keep on going but there is only so much room.
