Excellence Riviera Cancun

My husband and I had the pleasure of visiting Excellence Riviera Cancun in January–and had to stay an additional 2 nights due to a snowstorm in Philadelphia. This hotel is fabulous and runs like a well-oiled machine.

When we arrived we were greeted with champagne and a cold towel. Our room was ready and we were upgraded to an oceanfront junior suite. The rooms are not brand new–but clean and very comfortable with nice linens on the bed. We took advantage of room service, which has a limited selection but is very good. Excellence Riviera Cancun has seven restaurants which do not require reservations. We tried them all and didn’t have a bad meal.

The beach is perfect for swimming–no rocks. The pool meanders throughout the entire property with the largest portion being directly on the beach. The resort is built around a Mexican style courtyard where everyone gathers before and after dinner–brilliant. There is a live band each night in the courtyard where many danced the evening away. The showroom is open air with very comfy chairs and the entertainment was above par. There was also entertainment on the beach twice while we were there. The guests were a nice mix of all ages.

Finally–the staff. They were ready to help with anything at any time. When our flights were canceled due to the weather, they extended our stay for 2 nights and we were able to keep the same room. No problems.

I would return to this hotel anytime–and would recommend it to anyone!
