First I have to say that I love the Riviera Maya area and this resort is one of the reasons. I have been fortunate to have stayed at the El Dorado Royale several times. And I will be returning to the area again soon.This resort has everything a person could want, from an amazing staff, many restaurant choices, great room amenities and lots of activities. It is an adult’s only property so it is great for couples, a girl’s getaway or a destination wedding. There is so much right there, that you never need to leave the resort, but there are several excursions that could enhance your visit and they will help you with that.

Let me start with the rooms. Every room has a Jacuzzi, a mini bar stocked daily, beautiful marble bathrooms and the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. They all have a balcony or patio with chairs and a hammock. If you have the chance, I would recommend staying in a casita for even more amazing amenities, all with ocean views and private outdoor showers. The casitas are very large round rooms with thatch roofs and high ceilings. Some even have their own infinity pool and the pools in this section of the resort are quieter. The casitas are a great way to make that honeymoon or romantic getaway extra special!

El Dorado Royale has 9 restaurants. There is a casual beach side restaurant for a quick and delicious bite to eat. Plus there are many fabulous ala carte restaurants for a more romantic dining experience and reservations are never needed. You have so many choices - Italian, Mexican, Fondue, Asian and more. At breakfast you have a choice of buffet or you can choose to be waited on. There are 11 bars, including a health bar and a martini bar. Room service is available 24 hours a day.

Besides all of that, there are two large pools and many smaller pools with swim up pool bars. There is a natural saltwater pool built in the sea for those who aren’t as sure that they want to go in the ocean. There are activities going on at either a pool or on the beach daily. If you enjoy volleyball, they are always happy to get a game going. In the evenings they always have a show and that is usually followed with music and dancing on into the night.

The staff here is incredible, the grounds are gorgeous the food is delicious. From the moment I step on the property I felt like royalty. I have a very hard time packing up when it is time to return home.
