I recently stayed at the adults-only El Dorado Royale in Riviera Maya, Mexico for 3 nights. I had previously toured the property during a travel agent familiarization trip and knew that I would have to return soon to get the full experience. In fact, I was so impressed with the El Dorado resorts that I toured the “Gourmet Inclusive” concept, that I became a GIVC (Gourmet Inclusive Vacation Consultant) upon returning.

The El Dorado Royale did not disappoint! From arrival to departure, the service my husband and I received was exemplary. After a long day of travel, how nice is it to be treated to a cool and scented towel and glass of chilled champagne immediately upon arrival? We had an extremely early flight and the resort was able to accommodate our request for an early check-in. Before we knew it we were whisked away (via an extended golf cart type shuttle) to our Ocean view (a complimentary upgrade) Jacuzzi Jr. Suite. The accommodations are all lovely at this property, but we also had the plus of an exceptional view (corner view of the ocean).

After freshening up, we headed over to the one of the gourmet corners and had a delicious Mexican lunch, complete with very good Margaritas on the rocks! This was the beginning of many enjoyable dining experiences during our stay. Again, service was impeccable. What really stood out is that the waiters timed the service of our courses perfectly and our hot dishes were always served hot and fresh. Just another example of what the Gourmet Inclusive concept means.

This resort has a large spa, complete with the option for Sky Massages. I did indulge during our stay and had an 80 minute Sky massage and a facial. These wonderful treatments were enhanced by the soothing sounds of Caribbean. Meanwhile my husband, who is not a spa treatment type of guy, enjoyed one of the many beach beds found around the pools and beachfront.
