GOGO Vacations

Disney’s Pop Century Resort

I stayed the Disney’s Pop Century Resort for 5 nights with my family. I booked the Dining Plan in addition to the resort. The Food Court here is probably one of the best. It can be a bit crowded during the peak times, but because the rooms weren’t too far away, you could get it to go, and go back to your room to eat. There are 3 pools, which was really nice actually. The main pool — The Hippy Dippy Pool — seemed to have the most people there.

We swam in the Bowling Pin Pool, which is the only heated one of three Balls, life jackets, and fun pool things were all over, so you didn’t have to worry about bringing your own pool stuff

The rooms were fine.

We fit 2 pack-n-plays and had 2 double beds, and it was a bit tight, but we still had room to walk around within the room.

The vanity area by the sink was a bit small, but it worked

The closet doesn’t have doors, so you could stack up the luggage on the floor in the closet

Safe in every room, so you could lock up your valuables

There was construction going on during the time we were there, and it was loud in certain room areas, but we moved to a different room, and you couldn’t hear it at all there. So it could potentially have been a disturbance to those rooming right by it, because they worked day and evening……

We did have the $12 refill cup, which came in handy, because you had to walk past the food court to get on and off the buses, so you could fill and refill it every time you came in and out.

NOTE ON THE BUSES TO THE PARKS:

I’m not sure if you would know this before booking this hotel, and I thought it was great info……

The Pop Century has dedicated buses, so when you are going from the hotel to a park, it’s direct, and doesn’t stop at any other hotels, or water parks.

Not true at the Caribbean Beach, where we stayed last time. We always had to either stop at another hotel, or at a water park, which was kind of a pain, and took longer to get from point A to point B.

The thing about this hotel that could be good or bad, depending on what you’re looking for:

It’s not really ‘in your face’ Disney stuff.

The larger than life statues, are icons from the era, bowling pins, rubix cubes, yoyo’s, cell phones, etc. So if you’re looking for larger than life icons that are more Disney, probably the All Star Movies would be a better fit, because their icons are Disney characters, like Toy Story, Dalmations, etc.
