Couples Tower Isle
I just returned from Couples Tower Isle in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, and in one word- PERFECTION! From the minute you land at the airport, and make your way to the Couples VIP Lounge, vacation begins. They give you a drink in the lounge, and you can freshen up, before your transfer. The transfer drivers are fun and entertaining.
Once at Couples Tower Isle, you will no doubt be greeted by Byron.. He is the Head Bellman, and the first person you will usually see. He has personality plus, and will remember your name throughout the week.
The rooms are ALL beautiful, and my FAVORITE thing about this resort, is its boutique size. No matter if you have a garden view room, or an oceanfront suite, you are not far away from anything. I hate how at some resorts, you have to walk FOREVER to get to the beach- NOT HERE!
We stayed in the cceanfront suite- HEAVEN…separate living room, bedroom, and bathroom. The bath has a shower, and in the bedroom is a Jacuzzi tub overlooking the ocean. We really enjoyed our patio- it overlooked the ocean, and the activities at the pool bar.
I heard some folks say, they wouldn’t like this place, because the beach is small…while it is true, you don’t have miles and miles of beach, the best thing about the beach is it is PRIVATE- no vendors. All of the beach chairs are equipped with Couples floats, giving you a cushy chair, and also a water float. The beach is cleaned every am, as are the pools, in fact, the whole place shines.
There are two pools, the original main pool, and another pool with a swim up bar. With a beach and two pools, and only 200+ rooms, this resort never feels crowded.
Actually, there is a third pool on Couples Tower Isle, if you are so inclined to visit the Au Natural Island, there is a swim up bar and pool on the island as well.
All of the food choices are GREAT! While there is only a continental breakfast room service menu, there are so many dining options, I can’t imagine ever being unhappy here.
We found the buffet food to be fresh, and very good each day. We ate there for breakfast and lunch. With breakfast, the mimosas and screwdrivers were all set up for you, if you chose to have a drink with breakfast.
The fresh fruits were my favorite part of the morning. Lunches had a great variety. There is also the Grill next to the main pool, if you desire burgers, hot dogs, etc.
For dinner, there are many options. One night a week there is a beach party and food is served right on the beach. There is also The Verandah, the ‘no reservations required’ restaurant. The food here was good with a nice variety to choose from. The Bayside restaurant is Asian fare, and is a candlelight restaurant right on the sea. Reservations are required here. I found the food very good, hubby doesn’t like Asian so he thought it was ok. The 8 Rivers restaurant also requires reservations, and this restaurant was our absolute favorite!
The pool grill, Veggie Bar we did not try, but others said the food was good. There is also the option to arrange for a private dinner. And, there is Lobster in the restaurants every Friday!
The drink selection was fantastic! Lots of specialty drinks, and all of the bartenders made it entertaining.
The shows at night were fun and drew the guests in.
The service at this resort is untouchable! The manager personally came by to talk to all of the guests, ask about their stay and how they could improve, I was very impressed.
The included tours were great and have saved clients a lot of money. The glass bottom boat ride, catamaran cruise, horseback riding, Dunn’s River Falls Tour, Margaritaville and shopping tours all give you a true vacation experience, but you don’t have to shell out extra money for it. It is truly all-inclusive at this resort.
We had our vows renewed while we were there and the wedding department is top notch. As a Certified Honeymoon and Destination Wedding Specialist, I am VERY picky about where I send my clients, and this is now a favorite.
The recent remodel is amazing. This resort found a perfect mix of 50’s nostalgia, and contemporary clean.
The grounds and gardens are beautiful!
