I just returned from a 5 night stay at Couples Negril in Jamaica. Talk about hassle-free! After clearing Immigration/Customs, we headed for the Couples Lounge in the airport. As we walked up, the resort reps greet you, tag your bags for the resort you are headed to and have you go into the lounge to pre-register. Registration takes all of 30 seconds and then they send you over to the bar for beer, soda or water. After about 10 minutes they called for those guests going to Negril (Couples Negril or Swept Away) and took us out to the shuttle. The porter takes your bags so you can take your drink with you! They load the luggage and the guests onboard and off you go. The ride takes about 1 1/2 hrs, although they were doing road construction in Montego Bay so it was slightly longer. Along the way the drive tells funny stories and talks about the country and people.

Upon arrival to the resort you are greeted by bellmen and front desk staff. They have clipboards ready for each couple, you fill out your return flight info, give them your credit card and sign for your room. One of the reception staff then tells about the resort, the restaurants, the pool/beach, various activities, the spa, etc. Then they hand out everyone’s room keys and a porter take you and your luggage to your room.

We stayed in the minimum room category, Gardenview, and it was perfectly fine. The grounds are beautiful. The pool is gorgeous. The beach and water are absolutely amazing. They have these pads on every lounge chair that you can take into the ocean and float on. We spent most of everyday doing just that.
The restaurants and food are wonderful! One thing that amazed me was the number of activities/outings that they offer for FREE…. glassboat boat ride, sunset catamaran tour, tours to Margaritaville and Rick’s. They even offer a shuttle to church on Sunday mornings. All kinds of non-motorized watersports, beach bonfire, casino night, beach volleyball….the list goes on and on.

The people were so friendly, they can’t do enough for you. I was truly impressed and would not hesitate to send anyone to any of the 4 Couples Resorts. They have a huge number of repeaters and I know why!
